Sex change on a budget I had to take Mogley to the vet today. While he was checking her "ahem" backside, he suddenly remarked: "That's odd, our computer says he's female." "That's right," I said, "Mogley is a girl." "Nope," he said, "I'll show you." And with a little gentle pressure on both sides of Mogley's pee-hole, the end of a little bitty penis did indeed show itself.
This will take some getting used to.

| | How long have you had Mogley? A year and some days. I got him from the shelter at around this time last year and they were the ones who told me that he was a spayed female. I'm now trying to figure out how they came to the conclusion that (s)he was spayed...
The icon is himself last summer when his hair had mostly grown back. He's been shaved again recently and feels much better that way. told me that he was a spayed female... that's an impressive bit of vetinary science, methinks :) Well, they did of course call him "she". It's just the spayed part I really, really can't figure out. Unless my dear Mogley used to be a hermaphrodite of course. True.
We thought one of our cats was a male at first (to be fair, that's what we were told, he was five weeks old and we never thought to check...)
We called him Spike.
Thenwe took him for a vet check at 10 weeks... and yes, Spike became a Spikelette (although Sis wouldn't let me call her Spikelette, so she became Jassy) Cute! But perhaps Mogley has both sexual characteristics? Sometimes in humans that happens and they're mis-categorised. The size of the penis seems to be consistent with that. Actually male cats just have a really really tiny retractable one. And the vet only pushed out the very tip. I had no idea. But their balls are visible aren't they? Vic's were. True, but if the cat is neutered, it's sometimes very hard to see the difference between a male and a female, unless you get up close and personal like my vet did. The remaining sacs sometimes shrink away to nothing. Yep; Vic was entire when we found him. We had him neutered when he got a bad abscess on a paw and allowed us to catch him, and now we can't see them. |
