Jacqueline's ramblings - Break-ins suck

I haven't been posting lately or even reading my flist, because a burglar took my laptop a couple of months ago. The replacement computer is old and slow and a bloody pain to work with. In other words: normal service will resume as soon as I've saved up enough to buy a decent laptop again.
At least the cats are all ok and still present, which was my main concern when my neighbor called me at work to tell me that my house had been broken into.
Current Mood: blah
Oh no! Curiously enough, I was thinking last night that we hadn't seen you around much, a train of thought triggered by the sight of Jadzia Dax...
I'm very glad the cats survived the ordeal, but very sorry the laptop didn't.

Oh yes, I remember the costume! Gee, that casts my mind back...
It is good that the cats are okay.

That's dreadful! Hope you get a new one soon... and yes, it's a saving grace that the cats are okay.
What an awful experience. I hope you get a laptop soon. Is a laptop the sort of thing you can get second hand? From the sort of person who replaces them every six months?
I've looked into such laptops, but they aren't much cheaper than new ones around here. The laptop may have to wait for a while, anyway, because my first major purchases are going to be (in that order) vaccinations for all of the cats, a year's supply of cat food (because it's a lot cheaper when bought in bulk) and a year's supply of cat litter (ditto). Those things alone will cost me more than two fairly good laptops.
I'm sorry to hear that, and I know what it's like. Burglars took our only TV and the camera a few years ago. I hope you get a laptop soon and are back with us. Have you considered second-hand? People here have bought good ones that way.
Alas, second hand ones are not much cheaper than new ones around here.
Cats okay, good. You okay, if also frustrated, also good.
